Have you ever felt that you could use a few more holidays during the year? Well, you’re in luck! Thanks to the semi-recent fad of creating “national days” for everything under the sun, every day technically IS a holiday. (However, convincing your administrators to cancel school for some of these national days is another issue altogether!)
Yes, it seems that a “national day” exists for just about anything you can imagine*:
- National Thank a Mail Carrier Day (February 4)
- National FroYo Day (February 6)
- National Don’t Cry Over Spilled Milk Day (February 11)
- National Do a Grouch a Favor Day (February 16)
- National Sticky Bun Day (February 21)
- National Public Sleeping Day (February 28 – thankfully it landed on a Sunday this year so your students have no excuse for sleeping in class!)
- National Peanut Butter Lovers Day (March 1)
- National Open an Umbrella Indoors Day (March 13)
While many “national days” that supposedly now exist seem arbitrary and a bit silly, there is one upcoming National Day that sticks out to us as a truly worthy day to celebrate.
National Supreme Sacrifice Day
Although the day’s origin and creator are unknown, March 18 has been labeled National Supreme Sacrifice Day in order to honor those who have sacrificed their lives for the good and freedom of others.
American Christian Tours would like to celebrate National Supreme Sacrifice Day by holding a drawing for a Supreme Sacrifice Gift Box Giveaway.
The Supreme Sacrifice Gift Box will include:
ACTS Sling Backpack, In Honored Glory by Philip Bigler, Section 60: Arlington National Cemetery: Where War Comes Home by Robert M. Poole, A Living Treasure: Seasonal Photographs of Arlington National Cemetery by Robert Knudsen, and a laminated Arlington Cemetery Map.
All you have to do to enter the giveaway is like us on Facebook sometime between now and March 18!
All new Facebook likes received on or before National Supreme Sacrifice Day will be entered into a drawing for the gift bag.
Don’t have Facebook? You can still enter the drawing! Leave a comment on any post on our Only One Life Blog by March 18 and we’ll enter you into the drawing as well.
Would you like to earn more than one entry into the drawing? Ask each of your students to like us on Facebook, making it a group effort to win the gift bag for your classroom!
